Welcome

One of the world’s oldest and largest fellowships

Freemasonry is a society of men bound by shared values — integrity, kindness, honesty and fairness. Through friendship and mutual support, we encourage one another to be the best we can be, and to give something back to the world around us.

There is nothing secret about our purpose. We are proud of what Freemasonry stands for and of the good it does. This site introduces our Lodge, explains what Freemasonry is (and is not), celebrates the charitable and community work of Worcestershire Freemasons, and shows how you can find out more.

Why this site exists

Our purpose in three words: promote, explore, join

Promote the work we do

To share the charitable and community work of Freemasons — especially the Lodge of Hospitality, the Province of Worcestershire and the Worcestershire Freemasons Volunteers (WFV).

Encourage questions

To invite honest curiosity. We’re happy to explain what Freemasonry is about and to answer the questions people most often ask — openly and without mystery.

Welcome new members

To make it easy for good men who share our values to enquire about joining — with a clear, friendly explanation of what membership involves.

What we stand for

Values that guide every meeting

Freemasonry is built on four principles that our members try to live by, both inside the Lodge and out in the world: Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Charity.

Our own Lodge takes its name and its motto — “Mindful of the needs of others” — from the spirit of hospitality: looking outward, caring for others, and offering a genuine welcome. It is often said that Freemasonry does not make bad men good, but it does help good men become better.

Charity & community

Freemasonry that reaches beyond the Lodge room

Worcestershire Freemasons give generously of their time and money — supporting local causes, national charities and people in need, through the Masonic Charitable Foundation and hands-on volunteering.

The Lodge of Hospitality

Our members raise funds and support causes close to home — giving practical help in the true spirit of our motto.

Province of Worcestershire

More than 100 Lodges and around 2,500 members across the county, supporting healthcare, education, opportunity and independence.

Worcestershire Freemasons Volunteers

The WFV brings Freemasons together to volunteer at community events and support good causes with a visible, helping hand.

In their own words

“Those who seek good company, honest conversation and a genuine sense of belonging will always find a warm welcome.”
